Gemma & Clayton is a wedding i will never forget when i met them at the Heart Essex Wedding Show the year before Claytons mum had brought them to me. She was the organizer of the show and i had photographed her wedding years before.
We straight away got along which is very important when you chose a wedding photographer.
When it came to the final meeting we spent hours planning for the day and Gemma and myself exchanged many messages before the meeting with ideas.
Being that the wedding was on the pier, the reception on the beach at Sands, and that the couple were locals of southend with young children and young themselves, it was very clear that this had to come across in the photos. So british summer time it was with lots of colour and fun young photos.
We really had fun on this wedding with Chantelle assisting to catch the groom before the wedding.
The couple didnt have a smooth run up to the wedding as they found out the train on the pier was not able to run due to structure on the pier so the couple had visions on their family walking the pier…So the pier hired in big golf buggies to transport the guests up and down the pier, which had to be done in military precision arranging for guests to arrive at different times to all make it to the end of the pier. Then they found out that there was diggers fencing outside the venue as the three shells were having a rock pool put in.
But despite all the set backs of plans we got loads of photographs and the couple were very patient to walk to the other side of adventure island to find a beach for photographs.
The Reception at Sands was far better than we had visions of it was very pretty and shabby chic and light and bright with lovely chairs decoration and a decking area looking out to sea.
We even paid a visit into Adventure island before closing for some bright fun photos even on the carousel!
We used deck chairs, ice creams, candy flosses, pin wheels, balloons etc for photos.
