Foggy Wedding At Channels Golf Club

16th November a Foggy Wedding day, Its been many years since we shot a foggy wedding.  Advantages to the bride & groom Claire & Phil was that golfers weren’t playing so gave them more areas for photos.

It also gives a misty effect behind the couple which was a nice and moody effect, but it brings along a cold tone & means you cant always shoot at long distance due to visibility.  We managed some fab photos using a tree out the front of Channels Lodge that we spotted early on in the day during the brides photos, it was a burgundy red colour and once again was just the right time for this tree.  So we used it for some bridal photos then had to bring Phil back for some couple shots there later after the ceremony.

Phil & his guys were a great laugh and loved to put their thumbs up, that’s one thing that I will remember about this wedding… I asked Phil why… and its because they work in sky diving that when they are filming or photographing they always do a double thumbs up to the camera.  So we added that into their photos to make it unique to their day.

Claire & Phil arranged a very autumnal theme to their wedding, with hand made decorations in their room, hand cut out leaves for place names and centre pieces bringing the outside inside.  They also had a wishing tree instead of a guest book with leaves to hang on a tree.

The civil ceremony at Channels all ran very smoothly, Photos ran smoothly & before you know it the night drew in and we managed some night time shoots before the couple sat down, it gets dark around 4pm at this time of year so its important not to have a wedding later than 1pm in winter ideally.
